Motorcycle Racing at Red Star Raceway on Saturday the 7th May, with RSR Superbikes, Zwartkops Thunderbikes and the Zwartkops Brunch Run Challenge.

On Saturday 7th of May, superbikes will turn up the heat in the early winters weather when the Red Star Raceway Superbikes, Zwartkops Thunderbikes and Brunch Run Challenge take on the newly built Red Star Race Track near Delmas. Red Star Raceway is 4km long, has 13 turns and 5 straights. The track is designed to ride clock wise and anti clockwise. This will produce some exciting racing.

Leading the Thunderbikes in the championship point standings is none other than 2010 Thunderbike Champion Stephen Steenkamp with 100 points in class A, just to make life interesting and a bigger challenge, Vin Horn the Full Throttle Rider also has a 100 points in class C and is a tuff contender on the track with his 600cc Suzuki. Werner Mostert a favorite amongst the Brunch Run Challenge competitors and will be in for the fight with his BMW 1000 SS. It will be a hard ride for Stephen as he had crashed at Kyalami three weeks ago suffering a shoulder injury, but he is determined to get back on the bike as soon as possible. In the words of this biker "two wheels has a soul".

Zwartkops Raceway being the home track for most of the competitors now has a new challenge and excitement of entering a new circuit like Red Star Raceway. As seen from previous races more experienced riders find this track very technical and love the high speed and slow corners.

The Brunch Run Challenge will have new riders to join in on the day with the some familiar faces like Geoffery van der Westhuizen, now leading the championship from Werner Mostert, Nereus van Niekerk, Norman Guthrie Jnr and Ivan van Niekerk. What an exciting championship as ladies will also be on the track with Nienke Ferguson and Janine du Rant.
