A sad day has come, as the old Top Gear test track enters a new, less automotive, era…

News has now broke that the Dunsfold Aerodrome Business Park will be completely destroyed and levelled to make way for a new housing development.

A vote was recently passed to start the a new housing development program to accommodate some 1,800 new house, along with a shopping centre, recreation areas, and a health centre.

The surrounding rounds will also be completely renovated to accommodate a new bus route for the area.

Jim McAllister, Dunsfold Park Chief Executive said, “The development of the Dunsfold Aerodrome will provide homes for young families currently priced out of the area, direct development away from the green fields, create new jobs and deliver a range of new community facilities and infrastructure improvement.”

The Dunsfold Aerodrome Business Park is currently home to more than 100 businesses that employ around 800 people.

Over the years, the original Top Gear test track has seen some incredible cars, and has provided us with some of the finest motor-related entertainment in the world…

This historic track will surely not be forgotten!
