Three months ahead of its official launch to the South African public, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles hosted an exclusive launch for the 1st buyers of the much anticipated Alfa Romeo Giulia.
The event was held at the Inanda Club in Sandton earlier in the week, exclusively for the first 46 confirmed buyers of the Launch and Race Edition Guilia’s.
These 46 cars were snatched up within 3 days of the order book opening…
These buyers were treated to a luxurious night of classic Alfa Romeo’s, along with some Italian cuisine, in a room decked out in red and silver decor. After all this, a presentation on the new car was held by Marco Melani, CEO of FCA SA, followed by the cherry on the cake; a live start-up of the Giulia.
Both the Launch Race Edition are based on the top-spec Giulia Quadrofolio Verde, which is powered by a Ferraru-developed 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 that sends 375 kW and 600 Nm to the rear wheels via an 8-speed auto ‘box. Performance figures suggest a 3.9 seconds 0-100, with the top speed limited to 307 km/h.
The QV will be joined by 3 other model, including the Base, Super, and Super Lux, with entry-level models powered by a 147 kW 2.0-litre turbo.
The 1st cars will arrive in early 2017, with the rest of model line-up expected to join from around March 2017.
