Nissan’s updated small city car has arrived, and looks better than ever!

Now in its 5th generation, the Micra has been completely redesigned to be lower, wider and longer than before. This of course means more cabin- and storage space.

Designers have also paid great attention to reducing cabin noise, by greatly improving noise insulation and the car’s aerodynamics.

The new car sits on a new, more agile chassis, and has a whole host of safety features to improve safety and driving enjoyment. These features include Nissan’s Active Ride Control and –Active Trace Control, which helps with comfort and improves handling.

More impressive features to make an appearance include Lane Departure Prevention, a first in the segment, Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Recognition, Intelligent Around View Monitoring, Traffic Sign Recognition, High-Beam Assist and Blind Sport Warning. A pretty impressive list of safety features for a small, B-segment, city car, you’d agree!

In terms of engines, Nissan have decided to go for smaller turbocharged units, which include a 900 cc 3-cylinder turbo and 1.5-litre diesel, both producing 67 kW. A 54 kW 1.0-litre will be joining the ranks soon.

In all, a very commendable effort by Nissan!
